Poliedro Studio - Arch Giuseppe Rambelli
This duplex in the province of Bergamo is named after the material it’s clad with: Ceppo stone, a natural stone skillfully cut and applied in different slabs.
However, the volumes of this house are defined by other three materials, namely the wood of the bearing structures and the interior flooring, the glass of the large transparent surfaces, and the dark metal of the roofs and window fittings.
A patio is covered by a structure with an opening in the middle to let in as much natural light as possible and keep the space private. This structure is held up by thin black steel pillars with built-in lighting.
The double-height living room overlooking the internal courtyard has a large solar shield window. The residence’s main functions develop here, allowing the gaze to stretch out towards the garden.
The same firm designed both the exteriors and interiors for an organic and elegant result.
