Poliedro Studio - Arch. Giuseppe Zambelli
Near the sinuous banks of river Brembo in the province of Bergamo, there’s a multi-family residence that develops around a courtyard, favouring the exclusive views of each housing unit.
The house faces south, where the view over the garden is framed by wooden windows on the ground floor matching the wall cladding that interrupts the plaster, hinting at traditional rustic buildings. The side of the property facing the street is closed.
The entrance is the heart of the house. Once in, the gaze opens onto the rustic courtyard in all its depth, without interruptions, outlining the architecture in a clear and simple way. The entrance gives access to all the rooms facing the garden.
The sharp and voluminous architectural shapes contrast with the simple and traditional materials used: plastered walls, metal sheet coverings, wooden roofs and window frames, and natural stone flooring.
The building is certified CasaClima Class A.
